TMZ reports that Dunn consumed at least three beers and three shots in the four hours or so prior to the crash. TMZ says Dunn arrived at Barnaby’s of America, a bar in West Chester, PA, around 10:30 pm Sunday evening.
According to TMZ, there were conflicting reports as to whether Dunn was intoxicated. One friend said he was not too drunk to drive. Another person at the bar, however, claimed Dunn "had a lot to drink" and was "wasted".

News reports state that Dunn’s body was identified by tattoos. West Goshen Police say speed may have been a contributing factor to the accident.
The mother of Dunn’s friend and Jackass colleague, Bam Margera called a local radio show to confirm the report of Dunn’s death.
MTV released the following statement via Twitter:
"We’re deeply saddened by the passing of a member of the MTV family, Ryan Dunn. Our hearts and thoughts are with his friends and family."
