I recently wrote about the dangers of deer on the highway. Last year, my friend Carson Leach wrote about being hit by a deer while he was bicycling. So when I came across a video of a mountain bike rider in South Africa getting hit from the side by an antelope I just had to blog about it.
Events such as this go to prove that you can never know how or when danger will present itself while you are travelling on two wheels. The old saw is true: no matter how safe a biker you may be, you should still wear a helmet and safety gear because you don’t know what the other guy may do. Even when the other guy is a deer … or an antelope.
