So-called “Round 2” of the US ASR Hip Settlement Program is in the works, but it is still unclear when compensation payments will begin to be issued. Although the terms of this Settlement Program are expected to be very similar to the terms of the initial ASR Settlement, the Agreement has not yet been made available for review.
Claimants in the initial DePuy ASR hip implant Settlement Program received a base amount of $250,000.00. This figure was adjusted downwards for those individuals who were tobacco users or obese, among several other factors. An Extraordinary Injury Fund is set aside for additional payments to those who suffered from severe complications after revision surgery.
DePuy ASR hip implant recipients who qualify under the Round 2 Settlement Program will be required to file various forms and medical records to prove their claim. An experienced attorney can help to simplify this process for you.
